Now that we’re on the topic of fun ways to get kids to learn, here’s a few of my own:
Magnetic poetry. I have yet to find a kid who can’t take magnetic poetry and run with it. They all love it because it’s their chance to make nonsense sentences and be as creative as they possibly can
Take-a-shot review: For all your basketball kids, every time a student gets a question on a review right, let them shoot a foam ball at a little b.ball hoop. Kids love it!
Read aloud: I love the idea of picking a slightly above reading level book and having read aloud time after lunch. It’s a great transition back into class time, and students love it.
